He went on to score top marks in Asia, in his 4th grade at the Trinity College of Music, London. His father wanted him to become a guitarist and sent him to train in classical guitar. Right from the age of 6, when young Jayaraj began learning Carnatic music, he showed that he had a flair for his chosen profession. Harris Jayaraj has also been honoured with the Kalaimamani Award from the Government of Tamil Nadu, as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award from the former Governor of Tamil Nadu, Konijeti Rosaiah. Thanks to his compelling take on music, he has won several accolades and is recognised as one of the best music composers the industry has to offer. Over the years in the industry, Jayaraj’s music has put him on the map. Music composer Harris Jayaraj celebrates his 45th birthday today.
