I want to 'upgrade' my current setup to something a little less gimicky and maybe get a little more fidelity in the recordings.ĭedicated computer with an Audiophile 2496 On a whole, it doesn't sound horrible, but it's a real PITA. Then, I hook the MD recorder's lineout to my computer's soundcard. So, I basically I use it just as a mic-pre. My current setup has me hooking up a ~$60 stereo condenser mic up to my minidisc recorder, then putting the MD recorder on record and 'pause'ing it. Another thing is that I'd like to be able to order this online cheaply from some place that ships to Canada. The main trick is that I want this to be as flexible as possible while being as inexpensive as possible. I'm thinking that I will want at least 4 XLR mic-preamp on the mixer. So, what I think I need is two microphones, a mixer with mic preamps, and some cableing. Mostly, I'll be recording a single vocal track (me) and a single instrument track (my guitar). I'm trying to peice together enough kit to get a home studio going.
